hotel

Hotel

I stayed at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Hotel. It's a 5-star hotel at downtown Bangkok.

The room size is quite big for me. And it's tastefully furnished as well. The attached bathroom is spacious but i dont really like the shower tab handle. Very difficult to control or adjust to get right temperature. The rest are OK. For USD 120++ it's justifiable.

Mode of Transportation in Bkk

Taxi in Bangkok

There are lots of taxis in Bangkok basically in 2 sets of colour combination. Yellow/green and blue/red. I was informed that the blue/red is from goverment control company while the other is private-run co. According to fellow spansioner, the number of taxis in bangkok shoot up tremendously after 1997 financial crisis where most employers laid off thousands of workers. Most of them ventured into public transportation. Now i inderstand, the infamous bangkok traffic jam is mostly caused by too many taxis on the road.

Another interesting point about taxis in Bangkok is that most of 'em are brand new Toyota Corolla Altis, the car that is listed in my wish list.

Another popular, cheap but dangerous mode of transportation available in Bangkok is tuk-tuk. You can find it almost anywhere on Bangkok street. Dont dare to try one as i cant tolerate the drivers antic.

airport

Don Muang International Airport

The Don Muang airport is an old airport with resemblence of Subang Airport. So when i first step into, it's just like deja vu. seems like i once step into before.

Although Thailand is fondly known as "Land of Smiles", i can hardly see it from any imigration officers on duty smile while attending the long queues for imigration clearance. What i sawwas the harsh treatment given to the Nepalese geek in front of me.

What impressed me the most about the airport is how smooth their baggage clearance system. My bag is actually waiting for me on the conveyor belt once i want to collect it.

[Sorry Bangkok... I'm not so impressed about you]

I'm late

I'm late...

"Dah terang nih, abg tak gi training ker ari nih?"... wife said when she woke me up this morning. Darn it's 7.38 a.m. i rushed to quick bath & get ready to go. i cant take public transport today. need to drive as it's too late now.

ok now, which way to go. bukit jelutong --> nkve or sg. buloh --> nkve? called komeng, his wife replied the they use shortcut route thru subang bistari. so dont know the situation in sg buloh. called abg lan. "aku kat pdg golflah. kuar 6 a.m. tadi". lagi hampeh.

so i decided to try my luck. so i used sg buloh route. hmmm... what a decision. smooth like sunday morning. i left home at 8.03 a.m. and arrived at mcsb at 8.45 a.m... naper tak cayer ker???

Crystal Report 9 Training

Crystal Report Training 9...

From today till friday... i'll be attending  Crystal Report 9 training at MCSB. i decided to take public transport instead of driving there. so this morning, i drove to batu 3 komuter train station. took 7:50 a.m. train. RM4.20 for a return ticket to-from KL Sentral station. it was jam-packed like sardines tin. luckily it was morning.  this morning trip reminds me old good day where i relied heavily on public transport.

Arrived at KL Sentral station after 30 min ride. ppl walked pass me fast ala yuan yufang heading to finishing line during SEA games. wonder, are they fast walkers. or it's me who walk too slow. then walked to brickfield for monorail. RM1.60 to Hang Tuah station.  it's  my first experience on monorail. the train is slightly jerking when trying to move forward. not so full as compared with putra LRT.  10 min ride to hang tuah station. and another 10 min walked to mcsb.

balik time, i walked to  maharajalela station. i believed it's easier to walk there compared  hang tuah station. better view some more.

[just to update on current condition of public transport...]

Surprise... surprise.. it's anding

Surprise... surprise.. it's anding

Anding is the 3rd to leave the akademi. it is sad to see ppl of that quality to leave in such an early stage. he has the final concert quality. he got the style, the confidence and just need to brush up his pitching and voice litle bit. it is sad to understand that voters only give their money just based on sympathy (mas) , look (linda) & personality (kaer). to me talent shd be the main criteria before casting one's vote.

[to voters out there...it's your money... anyway]
